Archival internship position available
The foundation is looking for an archivist intern to organise, digitise and analyse an unexplored part of Walter Leblanc's archive, as part of the pilot project “Meervoudige perspectieven: onderzoek, classificatie, digitalisering, analyse en publieke ontsluiting van de archieven van Walter Leblanc (1958-1970)”. Tasks include:
- Create data entries in our database for archival matter (correspondence, invitation cards, photographs, ephemera related to exhibitions and teaching,…)
- Update metadata for existing entries, ensuring continuity throughout the database
- Scan images and documents, and process files on our server
- Handle and conserve the physical archive (label documents, store in acid free paper, label folders and boxes and update finding aid,…)
- Organise and maintain the foundation’s library
- Join our team in small day to day tasks
We are looking for someone who:
- is highly meticulous and organised
- studies/has studied art or holds equivalent experience
- confident working independently as well as in team
- knowledge of FileMaker Pro and Adobe Photoshop is a plus
We offer an insightful working experience in a dynamic and international environment. Timing and duration of internship will be arranged by mutual agreement. Office hours are Thursday to Friday, 10am to 5pm. In collaboration with the Flemish Centre for Artist Archives (CKV) and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp.
