foundation
Founded in 2006 by Nicole Leblanc and a group of close friends, the Walter & Nicole Leblanc Foundation aims to study, preserve and promote the artistic legacy of Walter Leblanc.
Starting from a collection of over 500 works of art, as well as a wide-ranging archive, the foundation develops exhibition and research projects around the work and ideas of Walter Leblanc. From Brussels, in Nicole Leblanc’s former home, the foundation collaborates with artists, scholars and institutions from all over the world. In doing so, it functions as a platform for dialogue between historical and contemporary practices, encouraging new readings of Leblanc’s work. Since 2023, the Foundation has expanded its public activities with a research fellowship programme, a series of talks with international cultural figures, and exhibitions that place Leblanc’s multifaceted oeuvre in conversation with contemporary creation.
Walter Leblanc’s art is rooted in research and international networks. Our mission is to keep his work and vision alive today.
