Walter & Nicole Leblanc Foundation

We are pleased to announce Carla Zaccagnini as our inaugural artist in residence. Our residency program aims to make the Foundation’s archives available to the residents for study, analysis and to enhance their visibility for a wider public. We want the core of our mission—the work and commitment to Walter Leblanc’s legacy—to be undertaken in synergy with a local and international artistic network that shares our ideas.

Through her work as an artist, curator and teacher, between Brazil, Sweden and Denmark, Zaccagnini has channelled her vision into a unique body of work.

“Many of the works I have been developing during the past years result from long‐term research‐based projects. What unites these projects is a focus on how invisible power structures or struggles are made visible; and what form they assume when becoming visible. […] The idea is to question those ways of thinking, telling, seeing and depicting that have been understood as neutral, revealing the choices behind them and opening the possibility of other paths that can lead to other thoughts, stories and images; and to other ways of acting.” —Carla Zaccagnini
