Walter Leblanc is included in the exhibition Open Systems at Museum gegenstandsfreier Kunst in Otterndorf, Germany
As an extension of the exhibition Chrome Shelter by Chris Dorland, the artist was invited to make a selection of works from the Museum gegenstandsfreier Kunst collection to be exhibited in the two rear galleries of the upper floor. Bringing together works by Walter Leblanc, Heinz Mack, Vera Molnár, Gary Kuehn and Martijn Schuppers, the selection traces a series of artistic lineages that resonate with the themes explored in Chrome Shelter. From the perceptual experiments of ZERO and the early algorithmic investigations of Molnár to the material tensions of Postminimalism and contemporary systems-based abstraction, these works reveal parallel approaches to structure, process, perception, and the relationship between control and instability.
The exhibition is on view until 4 October 2026.
