The Walter & Nicole Leblanc Foundation is delighted to welcome the Centrum Kunstarchieven Vlaanderen (CKV) to the second iteration of INSIGHTS, a part of our new program promoting meaningful exchanges with key figures in the contemporary art world, and beyond.
Being aware of the significance of preserving art archives, we have been reflecting upon the issues pertaining to the conservation of documentation and related materials. We’ve explored ways to make these records accessible as valuable research resources and how to seamlessly integrate archival elements into our mission. Over the last months, CKV has been generously sharing with us its vision on archive care and management. CKV’s Jan Stuyck and Nele Luyts will provide an overview of archival care offering practical suggestions, valuable tips and examples of best practices.
CKV is a hub for the distributed care of art archives and legacies. The organisation works autonomously at M HKA and focuses on the conservation, sustainable public access and effective field development of visual art archives under public and private management.
